This morning I brought my 14yr old boy down after he had had high temps and pain in his side and I was worried it was his appendix. The staff were all amazing and it maybe growing pains that made him sick. Thank you for your compassion and care.

Really enjoyed our experience here, everyone is so bubbly and happy which is so good for the sick kids, takes your mind off of the reason you are there.

The nurse made an appointment to see child. I turned up by taking a taxi as my husband took the car to work. There was no one. I called their number and was directed to a answering machine. The helpline person asked me to wait. I waited an hour by which time my child was hungry and crying. I left in frustration. The nurse called back the next day. I missed the call. She asked me to book another appointment. I called back and left a message that I won't be coming and expect the nurse to visit my home. I have had no contact since then. I complained to the health department and also did not get any response. Extremely poor service.

We’ve been here twice with our toddler in the past year and the first time was absolutely horrendous. Rude, dismissive staff, they misdiagnosed my son & wouldn’t listen when I questioned their diagnosis (they eventually tested & sure enough, their diagnosis was wrong), and it’s so hard how there’s no food etc for parents. I’d be happy to pay, if only we could order and not have to leave our sick child! However, our most recent visit was a totally different experience. We were seen immediately, and staff were thorough and compassionate & really listened. I sincerely hope this means that there’s been a positive turnaround at PCH overall.

I'm giving 4 stars mainly for the doctors, nurses, social workers and patient support staff who were kind, caring, gracious and highly professional at all times.Negatives were- no meals for parents, and if you don't have anyone to bring you food then you have to either arrange for a staff member to stay with your child or try to take your sick child to the food court if possible. I would be more than happy to pay for meals if they were easily available on the floor(perhaps a patient support staff member or AIN could assist?)No pain relief given to my daughter, despite me having to ask for it to be charted. A doctor did end up charting Panadol but it was never given. We were told a special team would come to do my daughter's blood test as she had had several traumatic experiences at PCH pathology previously, but this team was unavailable. She ended up having to be held by 2 people while a third took her blood and was very distressed.Equipment and emergency call buttons are very low at child height, which meant my toddler was frequently running around pressing call bells and trying to fiddle with equipment. Living with chronic illnesses myself I did try my best to stop her but it was very frustrating and challenging.

Iam absolutely disgusted I’m on level 2 and there is some parent with Covid in the ward in a room who collapsed for a start you gave nurses to look after the child the parent shouldn’t even be up here they should be in a hospital for themselves not risking our auto immune children and my child who has insulin requirements i think I’ll be taking this to channel 7 absolutely disgusting we are meant to feel safe in n wards with our children fair enough if it’s a normal virus but it’s Covid you’d should have ward just for Covid

Worst hospital ever. Left my daughter who has autism and an absess on her butt to sit on a hard weigh chair for hours. Dr's were rough and uncaring. People at fast track thought it was funny. Chairs in emergency for parents are hard. Vending machines empty, no access to food after being told no surgery until next day. We were starving. Absolutely appalling. Obviously spent too much money on the decore.

I cannot recommend this hospital highly enough. My newborn daughter - Charlotte - was there for two and a half weeks with Laryngalmmalacia, and the care and attention we received as tired, stressed parents was second to none. We were kept informed every step of the way as to what was happening/would happen and given exemplary support. Wonderful, sensitive staff all round, friendly and just fantastic to interact with. Parking was bloody heinous and in scarce supply but obviously that was the only fault and certainly not the fault of the staff who we exemplary- shout out toard to NICU Ward 3B!
